Commonly known as Velvet Centaurea this shrubby perennial hailing from Italy makes a stunning feature plant for hot, dry gardens, and grows well in all soils, even heavier ones, so long as it is relatively dry. Good for coastal gardens and rocky soils too. A fast-growing, slightly sprawling plant, with glistening silver leaves which are finely divided and large fluffy thistle-like glowing rose-purple flowerheads throughout late spring and summer. A good drought tolerant plant - loves full sun. Will eventually grow to around 80cm high and up to 1m wide, but can easily be pruned if needed. 9cm pot.
