Salvia iodantha 'Compacta' - 9cm pot
This is a great plant for late winter interest when the dark magenta pink flowers appear in spire-like bunches, glowing in the winter and early spring light, and perfect as a nectar source for any bees who dare to brave the odd sunny warm day. The plant is a bit tidier in habit than the original species and makes more of a thicket-type shrub. Appreciates a position with morning sun and a mulch of compost. Frost hardy and evergreen. Size at maturity around 1.5-1.8m tall x 1.5m wide. 9cm pot.
