A fabulous little plant for dry sunny gardens with good drainage. From a distance this beauty could be confused with Armeria, or thrift, but it's definitely a Dianthus. Clumps of stiffly narrow greyish-green, grass-like leaves and many short stems studded with round heads of deep ruby-red flowers, slightly scented. Looks fabulous in a gravel garden, or rock garden setting, or just in the front of a hot sunny border. Drought tolerant and frost hardy perennial. Flowering size 20-30cm x 20cm. 9cm pot.
