Cerinthe major 'Purpurascens', honeywort
Some of these gorgeous hardy annuals available now...I really couldn't be without this plant in my garden as it is so easy and so very beautiful. Plant a few of these and then let them flower and set seed and you will not regret it. Wonderful clumps of blue-green leaves create a brilliant foliage effect, and then eventually a succession of darkest purple-blue flowers appear amongst smoky purple bracts, the colours deepening in the sun and with age. A magnet for bees too. Full sun or light shade, happy almost anywhere. Flowering size 60-100cm high and wide depending on soil and position. 9cm pot.
