Lychnis viscaria ssp. atropurpurea, sticky catchfly
Low mounds of quite stiff and attractive green foliage, with a hint of glaucous blue to it. Dark burgundy stems carrying vibrant reddish-purple flowers in typical catchfly fashion. The stems are quite thin and wiry, slightly branched, and very strong, holding the masses of flowers up very well. An excellent hardy perennial for free-draining soils in full sun, drought tolerant once established. Flowering height 25-35cm, foliage clump to 25cm across. 9cm pot.
