An elegant species from China that I really love as it exudes a quiet charm not seen in some of the larger more robust varieties of this Genus. Delicately divided and scalloped foliage is finely edged in deep bronzed-mauve with a central zone slightly marbled with a silver sheen. In early summer the reddish-purple stems bear graceful short-spurred flowers in a gorgeous soft lilac-plum colour, the corollas edged in creamy-white. Ideal in light sun/shade in a woodland area with regular moisture but good drainage. Size at maturity/flowering, 40cm high x 25-30cm wide. 1 litre pot.
