Ultimately a large, vigorous and very beautiful plant that will create a scene from late summer into autumn, and is a magnet for butterflies, bees and other pollinators. Winter dormant in cold areas, in spring it shoots away, bearing by late summer strong, multiple stems topped with dome shaped clusters of purplish-pink flowers. This is a seed-grown line so some variation may occur, but the plants will be very similar to the plant in the photograph, which is the cultivar named 'Gateway'. Prefers good, moisture-retentive soils and full sun to part shade. Mature flowering size 1.5-2m high x 1m wide. 9cm pot.
