Eventually a large, vigorous and very beautiful plant that will create a scene from late summer into autumn, and is a magnet for butterflies, bees and other pollinators, start these babies off in your garden now to ensure a great display in years to come. Winter dormant in cold areas, in spring it shoots away, bearing by late summer strong, multiple stems topped with dome shaped clusters of purplish-pink flowers. This is a seed-grown line so some variation may occur, but the plants will be very similar to the plant in the photograph, which is the cultivar named 'Gateway'. Prefers good, moisture-retentive soils and full sun to part shade. Mature flowering size 1.5-1.8m high x 60-100cm wide. 9cm pot.
