(Dragonhead). A gorgeous species that is wider than it is tall, forming a mat-like clump of narrow foliage, and short, upright spikes of relatively large, hooded blue flowers which are reputed to be strongly fragrant. Does best in a rock garden situation or in gravelly soil at the edge of a small garden. Flowering height to 20cm, plant will eventually reach 30-40cm wide if happy.
