Salvia macrophylla - purple leaf form
The ‘Purple Leaf Form’ of this striking plant, which has distinctive large leaves, reminiscent in shape to the Arum family. The furry leaves are bright olive green on top, with contrasting purple reverses. Clusters of bright cobalt-blue flowers appear on branched spikes at the end of each leafy stem. This is a fantastic plant for year-round foliage and flower interest. Enjoys full sun to part shade, and copes well with hot and humid conditions. Not hardy to heavy frosts so needs some protection from other trees or shrubs. Be sure to cut the seed heads off if you don't want seedlings popping up. 1 to 1.5m high, 80cm spread. 1 litre pot.
