A plant to admire for both foliage and flowers, the leaves adding a ferny contrast to the garden. Lovely lacy foliage has purple tints, as do the upright flower stems, which bear airy panicles of lavender-blue flowers in summer. Winter dormant, hardy perennial. Prefers a partly shaded position or a cooler soil if in full sun, but otherwise it's not too fussy. Flowering height approx. 120-140cm, spread to around 60-70cm at maturity. Young plants in 9cm pots.
