(syn. S. africana-lutea) This special variety was grown from seed sent to me and it appears to be something similar to the cultivar 'Green Ginger'. Much finer silvery foliage than the species and forms a stiff shrub about half the size of the normal form, with stunning terracotta-coloured flowers and calyces that become lime-green with age. A tough plant that handles many situations but must have good drainage, and is best in sunny spots. 1 litre pot
