Cephalanthus occidentalis, buttonbush - 1 litre pot
I'm yet to see these flower but apparently they are bee and butterfly magnets, so I'm looking forward to seeing what happens. A plant for those with wet soils, so ideal for marginal areas alongside ponds etc. A shrub that will reach around 6-8 feet high and wide but can be pruned to shape, and in fact will look better if pruned once or twice a year. Fragrant, creamy-white round pincushion-like flowers appear from mid-summer into autumn, followed by brown seed heads. Hardy and deciduous, best grown in semi-shade in hot areas, with regular moisture. 1 litre pot.
