Persicaria virginianum 'Variegatum' - 1 litre pot
(syn. Polygonum; Photo courtesy of Jelitto, thank you). Prized for it's showy foliage, this makes a great plant for light shady areas. Clumps of green leaves each irregularly splashed with creamy-white, and small dull red flowers on paler stems. Best in a sheltered woodland garden with moisture-retentive soil or added compost. Size at maturity 50-60cm high x 40-50cm wide. 1 litre pot. Differs from 'Painters Palette' in that the leaves don't have the distinctive red 'V' shape blotch.
