Liatris aspera - 9cm pot
Excellent pollinator plant! This is one of the taller species ideal for naturalistic plantings and is particularly useful in drier free-draining soils, sandy soils even. Highly attractive to both humans and pollinators, with clumps of narrow leaves and tall, upright spikes dotted up the stems with round, fluffy rosy-purple flowers later in summer. Flowering height at maturity 70-120cm. These are young plants in 9cm pots, that will form corm-like root systems that become completely dormant in winter, then suddenly shoot away again in spring.
