Veronicastrum virginicum f. caeruleum - 9cm pot
I've been determined to succeed with these beauties as they are difficult to obtain in NZ. I've yet to see them growing and flowering like they do overseas, but so far these seed-grown plants are doing well. These babies have taken nearly two years to get to a saleable size from seed and having now broken their winter dormancy are big enough to be worth planting out now. You are unlikely to get flowers this year, but fingers crossed for next year! A hardy winter-dormant perennial which forms clumps of narrow green leaves, and in summer tall vertical spires of soft violet-blue flowers. Full sun to part shade with regular watering in summer. Height to around 1.7m when mature, initial flowerings may be shorter. 9cm pot.
