Grown from seed collected in my own garden, the original collection being from Shaanxi, Hanzhong, China, this is a very elegant species ideal for a woodland area. Delicately divided and scalloped foliage and in early summer branched stems bear graceful short-spurred flowers in a dusky deep purple, the colour fading towards the corolla so it almost appears edged in cream. Ideal in light sun/shade in a woodland area with regular moisture but good drainage. Size at maturity/flowering, 40-60cm high x 30cm wide.
